An Israeli legal rights group are suing two kiwi activists, who apparently convinced Lorde to boycott her performance in Tel Aviv.

ICYMI, Justine Sachs and Nadia Abu-Shanab wrote an open letter to the singer back in December, in which they asked her to pull out of her scheduled show in Israel.

Three days after the letter was released via The Spinoff, it was announced that the show would not be going ahead.

Now, the Shurat HaDin Israel Law Centre – a non-profit organisation, that advocates for Israeli & Jewish issues – are taking legal action against the pair.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of three Israeli citizens, who are seeking $13,000 in damages.

“This lawsuit is an effort to give real consequences to those who selectively target Israel and seek to impose an unjust and illegal boycott against the Jewish state,” a rep for Shurat HaDin said.

“They must be held to compensate Israeli citizens for the moral and emotional injury and the indignity caused by their discriminatory actions.”

Justine Sach took to Twitter to share her confusion, and then confirmed she and Nadia are seeking legal advice about the lawsuit:

Kia ora everybody,
Nadia are not going to speak further on this issue. We’re seeking legal advice and also going about our everyday lives because we have better things to do. We will issue a statement later today or tomorrow when ready. Stay woke 😎
