COHEN V. PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY

The Cohen family lived in the Kfar-Darom settlement east of the center of the Gaza Strip. On November 20th, 2000, a school bus carrying children to school in Gush Katif exploded when terrorists detonated a 120 mm. shell about 20 meters away. Miriam Amitai, 35 and Gavriel Biton, 34, were killed, and 9 others were injured.

Both victims left behind families and children. Of those injured, most were children. Three members of the Cohen family suffered major injuries to their legs. Yisrael, 7 years old, lost his right leg under his knee; his sister, Orit, lost part of her foot; Tehila, 8, lost both of her legs in the attack.

The trial is ongoing.
