WEINSTEIN V. PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY

Ira Weinstein, a United States Citizen residing in Ma’aleh Adumim, was killed in one of a series of bus bombings that took place in Jerusalem on Jaffa Road in February and March of 1996.

The attacks, perpetrated by suicide bomber Magid Wardah, killed 45 and injured 54 people. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Weinstein was on his way to work when the bus exploded; the blast immediately killed 26. He was immediately rushed to Hadassah Hospital, where he remained until his death, suffering from severe burns, injuries, and ensuing infections. Ira Weinstein’s estate sued Hamas and the Palestinian Authority for the act of terror. The trial is ongoing.
