In 2023 a new, tragically dangerous threat plagued Israel – the terrorist targeting of Israeli drivers. Each week another Jewish victim was killed or injured on the roads. In response, Shurat HaDin created a free antiterrorism survival training course available to Israeli drivers who wanted to learn what to do when ambushed on the roads with terrorist gunfire, explosives, firebombs or rocks. Security professionals provided the participants with emergency driving strategies, basic first aid and “live fire” simulation drills. We taught Israeli families the tactics they needed to survive a terror attack.
The course received widespread praise. Hundreds were trained, including many communities in Judea and Samaria and all Zaka drivers, and thousands were signed up. When the war broke out, we had to pause the courses, but with the new year we are starting them up again. Moreover, we plan to add defense strategies against home invasions to the training with the help of a US security firm.
