In September 2000, the second intifada broke out in Israel. Until the filing of this claim, tens of thousands of acts of violence were committed against Israelis, including shootings, Molotov cocktails and stone throwings, planting explosives, stabbings, assaults and suicide bombings.
The defendants instructed, encouraged and incited the armed forces under their authority, as well as Palestinian residents, whether as part of an organized terror organization, or independently, to carry out terrorist attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians. As a direct result, the number of tourists in Israel significantly decreased, and after a short time dropped to 50% of corresponding periods in previous years. The plaintiffs are professional tour guides in Israel. They have suffered a serious loss in income, which depends on domestic and foreign tourism. The plaintiffs are suing for request lost earnings which directly resulted from terror attacks and acts of violence.
