GILMORE V. PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY

On October 30, 2000 Esh Kodesh Gilmore, a US citizen, was working as a security guard at an Israeli Social Security office serving Arabs in East Jerusalem when a terrorist shot him in the head at point blank range.

Gilmore’s family, along with his widow and three-year-old daughter, brought a lawsuit against the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) under the Antiterrorism Act in the District of Columbia federal court.

Most recently, the case was dismissed on summary judgment based on evidentiary issues. It remains to be seen whether plaintiffs will pursue an appeal or further trial actions.
